It's in the genes...

I owe my love of Land Rovers to my Grandad, who like me, loved machinery. Here he is as a young man.


I think that this photo was taking when he was doing his National Service in Singapore.


No1 - bought in 1976 - I think it is a Series 2 or 2a. This was pre health & safety and seat belts - when kids could delight in hanging out the back whilst driving along.

No2 - bought early 1980s - a 1974 Series 3 LWB 109 2625cc Petrol Engine

No3 - Bought late 1980s - a 1980 Series 3 LWB 109 2625cc Petrol Engine - What did we do before people carriers? We had Long Wheel Base Land Rovers - one of the few vehicles that could carry a family of six, an Afghan Hound and all the luggage, complete with inflatable boat.


After this he moved on to a 'classic' Range Rover, two Land Rover Discoveries and finished with a Land Rover Freelander.
